How long is the protection period of software copyright?
The protection period of the software copyright of a natural person runs throughout its life and continues
50 years after its death. If the software is developed in cooperation, the protection period ends on December
31 of the 50th year after the death of the last natural person. The software copyright of legal persons or
other organizations will be protected for 50 years after the software is first published. However, the software
will no longer be protected if it has not been published within 50 years from the date of the completion of its
development.

All kinds of works stipulated in Article 3 of China Copyright Law can apply for registration, including:
